This briefing note presents findings from the January 2026 Humanitarian AI pulse survey, a follow-up to the 2025 global study by the Humanitarian Leadership Academy and Data Friendly Space.

The survey explored how humanitarians are using AI and organisational preparedness to support its use. While individual use of AI tools is growing quickly, organisational policies, training, and governance are still lagging behind. The findings highlight a growing need for stronger AI literacy, practical guidance, and more equitable approaches to responsible AI adoption across the humanitarian sector.
